PROJECT MANAGER: 400 Years of the Telescope Content & Service
Position: Full-time, exempt, 18-month contract position
Compensation: Salary, plus benefits package
Position Summary:
SOPTV is seeking an experienced project manager to oversee and coordinate activities between public television stations and planetariums in 8-10 cities in the United States and manage a marketing grant program for participating public television stations.
Working Conditions:
Typical office environment which includes extended periods of sitting at a desk and using a computer. Requires flexible working hours and involves travel to PBS meetings and selected public television stations and planetariums.
Qualifications

Required:

Successful history of project management with specific results
-
Strong communication skills including diplomacy, negotiating, writing correspondence, and oral presentations to individuals and groups

Strong computer skills, including experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint
-
Ability to work under pressure on a number of projects simultaneously

Ability to project a professional demeanor and be successful working in a team environment

Able to deliver projects on or under budget
-
Ability to follow all policies established by the company

Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

Must be available to travel and to work occasional evenings and weekends

Must maintain valid Oregon driver's license and insurance

Preferred:
-
Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or related field

Experience working with public television stations
-
Experience working with partners on community outreach projects

Experience coordinating events
-
Experience managing large government grants
